ST.PETERSBURG. Sept 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The Aerospace Equipment corporation specialising in development and production of wide spectrum of aircraft and spacecraft opened its office in China, a spokesman for the corporation administration said on Wednesday.
The office was opened in the headquarters of the Cun Yun aircraft devices company in Beijing, the spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency. Its main task is to provide technical support to Chinese specialists in the sphere of licensed production of on-board equipment for the SU-27SK Flanker plane. The office will also deal with other operational issues under the auspices of the Russian-Chinese military co-operation.
According to corporation specialists, opening of the office will help Russian producers of aircraft and on-board equipment feel more comfortable on the Asian market.
The opening ceremony timed to the Avation Expo/China 2001 show took place in Beijing last week. It was attended by officials of the Chinese AVIK 1 and KATIK corporations as well as of the Rosoboronexport state-owned arms trader.
