Mil plant willing to transfer MI-28N Havoc helis for trial operation to Defence Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The local Mil helicopter plant proposed to transfer several MI-28N Havoc combat helicopters for trial operation to the Defence Ministry, the plant's director general Alexei Samusenko told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

The production of the helicopter's test batch intended for combat tests at the army aviation flight personnel combat training and retraining centre should be partially financed by the ministry and partially by enterprises which co-developed and co-produced the helicopter. Among them are the Rostvertol company based in Rostov-on-Don, Ramenskoye instrument engineering design bureau and Zverev plant located in the Moscow region's Krasnogorsk.

If MI-28N is not purchased by the ministry in a few years the plant will insist on its exportat supplies, Samusenko said.
