Divers to complete guide baskets installation in Kursk sub's hull Thursday

MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Deep sea divers working on the sunken Kursk submarine are planning to complete clearance of the last technological opening in the hole of the submarine's 8th compartment on Thursday morning, a spokesman for the Navy command told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The divers will use a ram to perform the operation, the spokesman said. Also on Thursday, they are planning to install a foundation for radiation control on the submarine's bow.

The weather in the operation area still favours the works. The wind speed does not exceed 10m/s and the sea swell is three points.
