KHANKALA. Oct 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Federal engineering formations disarmed 92 powerful landmines planted by terrorists near administrative, industrial and military installations, on motorways and railway tracks in Chechnya in September, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
Most of the home-made landmines were assembled on the basis of large-calibre artillery shells, including 16 landmines on the basis of 152-mm shells, said the spokesman.
The highest demolition men activity was registered in Grozny, as well as in the Vedeno, Nozhai-Yurt and Shali districts of Chechnya, the spokesman stressed.
