OSCE officials visit motorised rifle brigade of Moscow military district

MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax-AVN) - Officials of 30 member nations of the OSCE arrived in the 27th Sevastopol separate motorised rifle brigade on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Moscow military district headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The delegation is accompanied by Major General Nikolai Artyukhin, head of the Defence Ministry's national centre for nuclear threat reduction, the spokesman said.

Upon the arrival in the brigade the delegation was invited to a briefing held by the brigade commander, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Kuzhilin. He spoke about the history of his unit, which is considered among the best in the district, and briefed the officials on the missions that motorised riflemen are accomplishing in peacetime. The delegation studied conditions of soldiers' life and service, attended training classes and a muster.

Later in the day the delegation is planning to visit the the training centre of the Moscow military district located in the Alabino village near Moscow. The OSCE officials will take a look at the armament in the inventory of the Land Forces and attend live firing of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and other weapons.
