YEREVAN. Oct 3 (Interfax-AVN) - A ceremony marking the first day of the Armenian and Russian air defense forces' joint duty was held in Gyumri on Wednesday.
After the ceremony, Russian Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin met with the commanders and personnel of Russia's 102nd military base located in Gyumri.
Kvashnin told the press that the Russian military base is performing defensive functions and that his visit to Armenia was scheduled.
