ROSTOV-ON-DON. Oct 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Eight senior officers and generals of the North Caucasus military district command have been enrolled in the General Staff Academy this year, a spokesman for the district headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
Four enrollees represent the 58th general army which accomplishes combat missions in Chechnya, the spokesman said.
Over 170 officers of the district and the units stationed in its territory but subordinated to the central command have been enrolled in other military academies and universities. Some 80 percent of the enrollees had combat experience in Chechnya and other trouble spots.
