Kuchma does not rule out Ukrainian arms deliveries to Uzbekistan

KYIV. Oct 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma has not ruled out the possibility of arms deliveries to Uzbekistan.

"It is not a secret to anyone that Ukraine has delivered arms to Uzbekistan," he told journalists in Kyiv on Monday, adding that supplies may resume in the future.

He expressed his sympathy for Uzbekistan because the Taliban movement in Afghanistan reportedly intends to make an armed incursion on the CIS country. "I don't envy Uzbekistan or [president] Islam Karimov," he said.
