Russian, British defense ministers to discuss fighting international terrorism

MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Talks between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and his British counterpart Geoffrey Hoon will center on fighting international terrorism.

The talks to be held in Moscow on Tuesday will also cover the status and outlook for Russian-British relations in the defense field, strategic stability and NATO-Russian relations, a Russian Defense Ministry official told Interfax on Monday.

Originally, Hoon was to stay in Moscow for three days, but he has cut the visit to one day. He will arrive in Moscow Monday night and leave at 22.30 Moscow time (1830 GMT) on Tuesday.

Hoon's meetings with Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo and presidential adviser Marshal Igor Sergeyev have been canceled.
