KHANKALA. Oct 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Policemen carried out 11 search and preventive operations in Chechnya on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry department for Chechnya told Interfax-Military News Agency.
They checked 19,734 people and 11,932 vehicles and registered 314 administrative offences, including 54 passport rules violations.
The police seized a grenade launcher, three hunting rifles, 14 artillery and mortar shells, four hand grenades, six grenade launcher rounds, 3,142 pieces of ammunition for small arms and 360g of drugs. Besides, 34 illegal oil refineries and four makeshift explosive devices were destroyed.
Rebels attacked federal positions and installations using automatic guns and grenade launchers eight times on Tuesday, the spokesman said.
No casualties were registered among federals who fired back in each case.
