Georgian Foreign Ministry sends note of protest to Russia over events in Kodori Gorge

TBILISI. Oct 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The Georgian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday sent the Russian Foreign Ministry a protest note over the bombing of the Kodori Gorge on Tuesday.

"The Georgian side sees the violation of its airspace by foreign military planes and the bombing of the Kodori Gorge as a violation of the country's sovereignty and an attempt by certain forces to disrupt the process of resolving the conflict in Abkhazia," Kakha Sikharulidze, director of the Georgian Foreign Ministry's information and public relations department, quoted the protest note to Interfax.

The Georgian side insists that "Georgia and Russia should immediately conduct a joint investigation into these incidents and suggests an immediate examination of the places that were bombed," the note reads.
