MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Federal Border Guards Service Director Konstantin Totsky on Wednesday briefed President Vladimir Putin about the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border, Putin's press secretary Alexei Gromov told Interfax.
Totsky did not expect an inflow of refugees across Afghanistan's border with Tajikistan, Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan in the short- or mid-term.
Russian Defense Ministry and Interior Ministry units have moved to reinforce the guarding of the Abkhazian stretch of the Russian-Georgian border, he said.
Putin gave Totsky numerous new orders, Gromov said.
