KHANKALA. Oct 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Army aviation helicopters flews 119 sorties in Chechnya on Wednesday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.
MI-24 Hind fire support helicopters were involved in combat operations 23 times, while transport helicopters accomplished 16 missions.
A rebel camp near the Serzhen-Yurt village and an extremist base near the Shovkhol-Berdi village were destroyed by air strikes. Over 140 servicemen and 1,800kg of cargo were airlifted at the request of the federal command.
Army aviation helicopters were attacked two times by extremists, the spokesman said.
