MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The radiation level in the Barents Sea remains normal after the Giant-4 barge with the attached recovered Kursk submarine drooped anchors near the Roslyakovo village, a spokesman for the Navy Staff told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday citing the Northern Fleet commander's report.
Deep sea divers inspected the Kursk and found no changes of the radiation level either. They set up additional radiation meters on the submarine's hull.
At present Navy Commander Vladimir Kuroyedov is holding working session on board the Admiral Chabanenko large anti-submarine ship. He is expected to assign new tasks to the special purpose expedition that has recovered the Kursk.
The weather in the submarine's stationing area is favourable, the wind speed is 7m/s and the sea swell is one to two points. Divers are operating from the VM-72 and RVK-557 diving vessels.
