Tajik DM, Russian chief-of-staff discuss situation in Afghanistan

DUSHANBE. Oct 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin on Thursday held talks with Tajik Defense Minister Shirali Khairulloyev and the commanders of Russia's 201st motorized rifle division based in Tajikistan, during his 90-minute stopover in Dushanbe, sources in the Tajik General Staff have informed Interfax.

The talks dealt with the current military-political situation in Afghanistan, and a Russian-Tajik plan for guarding and defending the state border of Tajikistan.
