Russian prosecution, navy officials board Kursk sub

ROSLYAKOVO, Murmansk Region. Oct 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Top Russian prosecution and navy officials climbed aboard the sunken Russian nuclear submarine Kursk on Tuesday.

Before boarding the Kursk at 1240 GMT, Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov, First Deputy Chief Military Prosecutor Yury Yakovlev, navy commander Vladimir Kuroyedov and Northern Fleet commander Admiral Vyacheslav Popov took off their hats and observed one minute of silence to mourn the submarine's 118 crew, killed when the vessel sank during an exercise in the Barents Sea in August last year.

It is still unclear what caused the Kursk tragedy, which has been brought to the port of Roslyakovo, near Murmansk.
