DUSHANBE. Oct 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's 201st motorized rifle division, based in Tajikistan, has not been and is not rendering any military-technical aid to Afghanistan's Northern Alliance, chief of the division headquarters Colonel Yevgeny Gusev told Interfax on Wednesday.
He said that "the division has neither the strength nor the means to do so." "It needs the weapons and ammunition currently at its disposal to stay combat ready and to protect and defend the second line of the Tajik-Afghan border," Gusev said.
