STAVROPOL. Oct 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Heads of the Federal Tax Police Service department for the Stavropol territory are to hold a closed-door conference here on Tuesday.
A number of problems concerning violations of tax laws and measures to counter economic crimes are to be discussed at the meeting. The regular items on the agenda such as tax-evasion crimes will be considered along with the task of undermining the financial basis of the extremist groups operating in Chechnya and adjacent territories.
Among the problems discussed at the latest meeting of the region's law-enforcers was that of some enterprises and companies transacting on the territory of the region under the control of organized criminal groups, with the profits used to finance extremist organizations operating both in Chechnya and adjacent territories.
Officers of the Federal Tax Police Service for the Stavropol territory in co-operation with the local policemen and FSB officers have already checked financial activities of several companies in the territory.
