VLADIKAVKAZ, North Ossetia. Oct 30 (Interfax-AVN) - The armed terrorist who had taken 18 hostages in a local children's health centre was rendered harmless on Tuesday, North Ossetian Emergencies Minister Boris Dzgoyev told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Law-enforcers took the health centre by storm and captured the terrorist alive, Dzgoyev said. Nobody was hurt in the operation.
The terrorist broke into the health centre at about 3:00 p.m. (1200 GMT). He released the hostages at 4:22 p.m. (1322 GMT) and demanded USD5m, threatening to blow up a nine-storey apartment block near the Alan market.
