Law-enforcers expose illegal ammo cache in Russian Far East

VLADIVOSTOK. Nov 1 (Interfax-AVN) - The Federal Security Service (FSB) department in the Maritime territory has exposed an ammo cache owned by a criminal gang, the department's press service said on Thursday.

The cache located near the Vladivostok-Nakhodka highway contained five F-1 grenades, 21 electric detonators, 16 TNT charges weighing a total of 4.2kg and three fuses, the press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Earlier this month FSB agents seized the ammo bought by criminals from a military unit, including four anti-personnel mines, seven live grenades, 3kg of explosives (TNT, plastic explosive) and over 300 cartridges for the Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Law-enforcers have launched criminal cases to probe into the two incidents and are doing their best to detect the people involved in illegal arms and ammo turnover.
