Russian Convetional Arms Agency board to hold expanded, extramural session Friday

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax-AVN) - A regular expanded session of the Russian Conventional Arms board will happen on Friday, an official of the agency's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The session will take place at the Degtyaryov Plant JS in the town of Kovrov in the Vladimir region. It will be chaired by Alexander Nozdrachev, board chairman and director general of the Conventional Arms Agency.

The session participants are to discuss the implementation of the 2001 state defence order, prospects of arms and military equipment development as well as military-technical cooperation at Kovrov-based enterprises. They will also consider fire security at defense industry enterprises.

Apart from the permanent members the board session will involve officials of the Ministries of Defense, Interior Affairs and Economic Development, Russian committee on military-technical cooperation with foreign countries, Rosoboronexport state-owned arms trader, department for fire security, leaders of the administrations of the Vladimir region and Kovrov, Military Insurance Company, organizations and enterprises subordinate to the Conventional Arms Agency.

The board members will visit the Degtyaryov plant's proving range to study the plant's achievements in the sphere of military- and civil-purpose products manufacturing, as well as combat capabilities of arms produced by the plant.
