Russian border guards in Tajikistan find cache of drugs

DUSHANBE. Nov 2 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian border guards in Tajikistan on Thursday found another cache of drugs where 34 kilograms of heroin was stored in small packages kept in two sacks.

The same day, Russian servicemen burned about 82 kilograms of heroin seized from armed smugglers on Wednesday. Officials of the Tajik Security and Interior Ministries and anti-drug trafficking agency reporting to the president attended the burning.

Border guards heard nearly 40 powerful blasts in the area facing the junction of the positions of the Panj and Moscow units around the village of Kazakkishlak on Thursday. Patrols of Bedanibedak and Panj border posts witnessed bomb explostions about five kilometers from the border in the area of Afghan village of Aikhimchal.
