16 missiles removed from Kursk submarine

SEVEROMORSK, Murmansk Region. Nov 2 (Interfax-AVN) - Military experts have removed 16 Granit cruise missiles from containers of the Kursk submarine.

Eight missiles each were removed from the left and right sides of the submarine, Northern Fleet spokesman Vladimir Navrotsky told Interfax on Friday.

A routine procedure of missile dismantling is underway.

Of the 55 bodies removed from the submarine, 45 have been identified, he said.
