MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax-AVN) - Nine railway cars carrying 1.100 stoves, seven mobile electric power stations and 39 twenty-seat tents have been sent from Russia to Dushanbe for further transportation to Afghan refusees.
The cars have already passed the stations of Aksaraysk and Kokchetav of the West Kazakh Railway, Deputy Emergency Minister Yuri Brazhnikov told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Another three cars loaded with 127 multi-seat tents for Afghan refugees left the stations of Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo Region, and Kolpino, Leningrad region, on Thursday night. Brazhnikov said 58 railway cars and 16 railway platforms would be sent to Tajikistan during the second stage of the humanitarian operation conducted in accordance with the order of the president and Russian government.
320 multi-seat tents, more than 6,000 blankets, 10 tons of medicine, 75.5 tons of food products and medical equipment worth RUB21.5m (USD722,500) were sent to Afghanistan from Russia within the first stage of the operation. Russia's overall expenses are mounting up to RUB6.2bn (USD208m).
