YEKATERINBURG. Nov 6 (Interfax-AVN) - The U.S. General Consulate in Yekaterinburg (Urals) on Tuesday received information from the State Epidemic Control Center (Gossanepidnadzor) of the Sverdlovsk region that anthrax spores had been found in one of six bags containing diplomatic mail.
The mail had come from Washington on October 25. The anthrax tests conducted on the other five bags came back negative.
The source of the spores in not known, although Gossanepidnadzor said that the spores had been found inside the bags.
