GROZNY. Nov 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Agents of the Federal Security Service (FSB) department for Chechnya detained 21 suspected rebels on Wednesday, a department spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Seventeen suspects were apprehended in the Nozhai-Yurt district and two in the town of Gudermes, the spokesman said. Among the detainees is Tashayev, 26, suspected of staging a series of sabotage acts on railways. The man apprehended in Gudermes had on him an RGD-5 grenade.
FSB agents, servicemen of local military commandant's offices and district policemen seized two assault rifles, three rocket launchers, 28 rockets for the RPG-7 rocket launcher, a Luger pistol, a large amount of ammo, RGD-5, F-1 and VOG-25 hand grenades in the Shelkovskaya and Kurchaloi districts. They destroyed one guerrilla who attempted to put up resistance.
