TIRASPOL, Trans-Dniestr Region. Nov 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The second train carrying ordnance and ammunition of the Russian operations force in the Trans-Dniestr region left the Tiraspol terminal for Russia at 1:00 p.m. Moscow time (1000 GMT) on Monday, a spokesman for the force headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The train will deliver over 20 BMP-1 and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles to the Moscow military district, the spokesman said.
The first train carrying 37 Akatsia self-propelled artillery systems left Tiraspon late on November 9 and has already entered Russia.
According to data obtained by Interfax-AVN the agreements reached at the OSCE summit in Istanbul in November 1999 envisage relocation of 100 pieces of hardware and about 100t of materiel, including ammunition, from the self-proclaimed Trans-Dniestr Republic to Russia. Four trains will be used to deliver the cargo.
OSCE military inspectors are staying at departure and destination points to control the withdrawal.
