Power cuts disrupt tests of AN-70 plane in Crimea

KIEV. Nov 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The test flights program of the promising AN-70 plane has been effectively disrupted in the state aviation research and test centre of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Crimea, a source in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.

The program being performed jointly by Russian and Ukrainian military pilots envisages 50 flights, but only a few have been made, the source said. The pilots have not even started landing of military equipment and cargo from the AN-70, for which 30 flights were allocated.

"Constant power cuts have effectively paralyzed activities of the centre. The latest plane is idling and specialists of the Antonov corporation have nothing to do," centre chief Major General Yuri Tishkov said.
