GROZNY. Nov 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Rebels have carried out a terrorist attack aimed at killing Ruslan Yamadayev, deputy military commandant of the Chechen Republic.
Rebels exploded a landmine near Yamadayev's car on Sunday, the Chechen military commandant's spokesman Selim Tsuyev told Interfax on Tuesday. "The blast did not cause any casualties, and Yamadayev himself was slightly concussed," Tsuyev said.
The incident took place in Gudermes on Sunday evening, when Yamadayev was returning from his relatives, he said. "When the car was driving from his relatives' house, the landmine exploded," Tsuyev said.
"I have already ordered the investigation of this incident and law enforcement bodies are looking for the criminals," Tsuyev said.
Yamadayev's health "does not cause any concerns," he said. "I have seen him today, and he is okay," Tsuyev said.
