Russian, Azerbaijani deputy PMs head groups working out radar's status

BAKU. Nov 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko and Azerbaijani First Deputy Prime Minister Abbas Abbasov will head expert groups for drafting an agreement on the status of the Gabala radar.

An corresponding agreement was reached in Baku at the fourth session of the bilateral inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation.

During the session "a joint protocol was signed. It stipulates a working group's findings on the radar station's environmental impact." The group worked for several months.

The protocol "will be included in a future agreement on the Gabala radar's status." The document will be signed during the upcoming official visit of Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev.
