CHELYABINSK, Southern Urals. Nov 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The local Strommashina plant has launched mass production of a new set for group fuelling of planes on the airfield that is designated KG 3ST-2A, a spokesman for the Strommashina administration said on Tuesday.
The set was designed by Strommashina constructors in cooperation with the 25th state-owned R&D institute of the Russian Defense Ministry. It is intended for fuelling aircraft with filtered fuel and is to replace the G3ST-4-1-50 systems that the troops are using at the moment.
The KG 3ST-2A set has passed service tests and was recommended for adding to the inventory of aircraft technical units of the Air Force and other bodies operating planes and helicopters. It is serviced by one person. The fitted set weighs 9t and has two fuelling devices.
Strommashina's production capacities are capable of manufacturing 100 sets a year. The cost of one mass-produced set makes RUB1m (USD33,420).
