MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax-AVN) - CIS defense ministers, who will meet in Moscow on Wednesday, will discuss issues relating to military and military-technical cooperation.
Among other issues, the defense ministers will discuss the draft military-technical cooperation program between CIS countries, the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax.
The defense ministers also intend to discuss issues related to anti-terrorist activities in the military sphere on CIS territory, the peacekeeping operation in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone, and improving the work of the CIS collective peacekeeping force.
The meeting will be chaired by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov.
The defense ministers of the member-countries of the Collective Security Treaty will meet in Moscow on the same day in the afternoon. The ministers are planning to discuss the military-political situation in the member-countries of the Collective Security Treaty, and also issues related to the formation and financing of the Central Asian collective rapid deployment force.
