MOSCOW. Nov 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Turbogenerator 4 of the Kursk nuclear power plant was stopped at 7.05 a.m. Moscow time (0405 GMT) on Friday due to the heating of bearings, a spokesman for the Russian Emergencies Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The radiation level is within regular limits at the plant and outside it, the spokesman quote the plant's on-duty personnel as saying.
Reasons behind the emergency situation are not yet clear.
The plant is still in operation, and its capacity has not declined thanks to connection of a reserve generator.
