KHANKALA. Nov 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Six rebels were destroyed during search operations in Chechnya on Thursday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Units of the military commandant's offices carried out four special, eight search and three pin-point operations. At the same time police officers accomplished 14 search missions in several villages of the Kurchaloi, Shali, Shelkovskaya, Grozny rural, Itum-Kale, Nadterechny, Shatoi, Vedeno and Nozhai-Yurt districts. As a result one rebel was killed and six suspected guerrilllas were detained.
Servicemen of military commandant's offices, Interior Ministry troops and policemen are carrying out a special operation In order to neutralize the rebel groups in Grozny. They checked 2,715 people and 1,842 vehicles, detained 16 suspected rebels and seized three grenade launchers, seven grenades, 11 artillery shells, 15.4kg of explosives and 1,200 small-arms cartridges from illegal caches.
