Russian Land Forces commander to visit North Caucasus

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Land Forces Commander and Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Kormiltsev with a group of officers and generals will visit the North Caucasus in early December, a competent source in the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

The main aim of the four-day visit is the control over organization of combat and recruitment readiness in the North Caucasus military district during the new training year.

During his trip Kormiltsev will visit the unified federal headquarters in Chechnya where he is to hear reports of the unified federal group's commander Lieutenant General Vladimir Moltenskoi as well as chief of the Armed Forces services and branches about the Chechnya campaign.

Kormiltsev will also visit units of the 42nd motorized rifle division which is permanently stationed in the breakaway republic and study the troops settlement in garrisons.
