None of suspected supporters of al-Qaeda found in Russia

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - None of the legal entities or individuals that the United States suspects of financing the al-Qaeda organization headed by Osama bin Laden have been found on Russian territory, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin told the Argumenty i Fakty weekly.

The U.S. list forwarded to Moscow includes "27 suspected people and organizations," Kudrin noted.

"So far, none of the listed organizations have been identified on Russian territory," he said.

"However, the Federal Security Service learned about one Pakistani and one Jordanian citizen, who allegedly arrived in Voronezh to study," he said. Additional information on these people was requested, he said.

"Several probes are underway in connection with the financing of Chechen terrorists and militant bases," he said. In the interests of the investigation, Kudrin refrained from detailing the probes.
