Siberian specialists design system for combating high-precision arms

NOVOSIBIRSK. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Specialists of the local applied physics institute which designed the system of combating high-precision arms for Navy are developing similar systems for the Land Forces, the institute's constructor general Yevgeny Yurovsky told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

The system is operating due to combined use of aerosol substances and creates jams for various high-precision arms' homing systems of the enemy in combat conditions. According to Yurovsky, the system is capable to create jams more effectively and in wider ranges including optical and radar ones than its foreign analogues. Such specifications help decrease combat losses of manpower and equipment during the battle.

The need for the new system of the institute specialists aimed at modernization of protection of the Armed Forces personnel, military equipment and various installations is explained by wide use of high-precision arms in recent local conflicts.
