ST. PETERSBURG/SEVEROMORSK. Dec 4 (Interfax-Northwest) - The 59th crewmember of the nuclear submarine Kursk, Vitaly Solorev, has been identified at the Severomorsk military hospital in the Murmansk region.
On Tuesday the identification results were confirmed by Solorev's widow Anna, who arrived in Severomorsk from St. Petersburg.
Commander of the salvage squad Solorev was discovered in the third compartment, where he should have been according to the staff functions.
He was recruited to the Northern Fleet from the Bryansk region, where his parents currently live.
Solorev will be buried at the Serafimovskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg, next to the 13 Kursk crewmen buried in November 2000 and in 2001.
