Major arms trader, Russian region sign general interaction agreement

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax-AVN) - The Rosoboronexport state- owned arms trader and the government of the Mariy El autonomous republic concluded a general interaction agreement on Tuesday, the Rosoboronexport press service reported.

The document was signed by the republic's Prime Minister Leonid Markelov and the company's Director General Andrei Belyaninov, the press service report reads.

The agreement outlines measures of economic and organizational support of arms exporters on the industry and federal levels and provides for conducting coordinated policy aimed at increasing the export volume of competitive military- and civil-purpose goods.

Defense industry enterprises of the Mariy El republic design and manufacture export-oriented military products and a broad spectrum of civil-purpose products, including medical equipment, tools for agriculture and fuel and energy industry, electrotechnical devices, measuring and electronic equipment, automation means, etc., the report reads.
