VLADIVOSTOK. Dec 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Colonel Yuri Orlenko has been appointed head of the Russian Interior Ministry group in Chechnya, a spokesman for the Maritime territory police department said on Wednesday.
Prior to his current appointment Orlenko was deputy head of the Maritime police, the spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency. He will fly to the North Caucasus in a few days to assume duties. His mission will last for at least six months.
Orlenko joined the Maritime police in 1976. He became deputy head of the territory's police department and head of the public security police in 1993, the spokesman said.
