Kyrgyz parliament likely to approve deployment of French servicemen in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK. Dec 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The Kyrgyz parliament intends to ratify a draft Kyrgyz-French agreement on allocating Kyrgyz facilities for a French military contingent involved in the anti-terrorist and humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.

Interfax obtained this information from chairman of the Kyrgyz parliament committee on international cooperation Alisher Abdimomunov on Thursday.

In particular, the agreement presumes the deployment of a French Defense Ministry military contingent, including French Air Force aircraft, at the Bishkek international airport Manas.

The parliament earlier ratified an analogous Kyrgyz-U.S. intergovernmental agreement.
