KHANKALA. Dec 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Army aviation helicopters destroyed an extremist dump near the Chechen village of Nokhchi- Kiloi on Thursday morning, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.
At the same time another pair of helicopters eliminated a rebel gang in the vicinity of Kashkerlam Mountain as high as 2,806m, the spokesman said. The militants were heading for the base with a load of arms and ammunition.
MI-8 Hip transport helicopters flew 11 missions in Chechnya on Thursday. They delivered over 40 servicemen and some 500kg of cargo to hard-to-reach and remote districts of the volatile region, the spokesman said.
