YEREVAN. Dec 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The Co-Chairmen of the Armenian-Russian Economic Cooperation Commission, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov and Armenian Defense Minister Serzh Sarkisyan, initiated an agreement on settling Armenia's debt to Russia on Saturday.
"This is the real beginning of integration between our two nations," Klebanov said before his departure to Moscow. "The Russian delegation is satisfied with the accords."
The agreement approves the list of Armenian enterprises whose stock will be fully or partially obtained by Russia in payment of the debt, Sarkisyan said. Documents on concrete enterprises will be drafted in the first quarter of 2002. The Mars radio-electronic plant, the Mergelyan institute of mathematical hardware, the institute of materials science, and the Razdan thermoelectric power plant are on the list.
