Russian Defense Ministry not planning to introduce three-year term of military education

MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The project of reforming Russian military education does not envisage introduction of a three-year term of studies in higher military educational establishments of the Defense Ministry, deputy chief of ministry's military education department Colonel Kamil Akbarov told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

Akbarov said the project of reforming Russian military education would be submitted to the government for approval by April 1 of the current year.

The Ministry of Defense intended to submit the project as far back as in December last year, yet the document was not approved by the Russian Finance and Economic Development Ministries back at that time, the colonel stressed.

Akbarov added that the draft of the project is based on the concept of reforming the Russian educational system for the period of up to 2010. The concept was approved by the head of the Russian government.
