MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The Defense Ministry is sure that regional energy commissions are imposing discriminatory tariffs on supplies of electric energy to military units and institutions, Colonel General Viktor Vlasov, head of the ministry's main housing operations department, has said.
The tariffs imposed on the ministry's installations are discriminatory even in comparison with energy prices fixed for other law-enforcement agencies, Vlasov said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper published on Thursday.
Energy makers believe that they can charge more from the Defense Ministry since it consumes so much energy, Vlasov said. At the same time, they are constantly claiming that the ministry is to blame for the collapse of several enterprises of the fuel and energy industry and the subsequent crisis of local budgets that survive mostly thanks to proceeds from that industry.
Vlasov fully refuted the claims. "A large-scale check held Ministry's] consumption volume cannot produce such a great effect on fuel storage for the winter period in crisis regions," he said.
Besides, the energy makers limit and cut off power supplies to very important military installations, which is a violation of the law, Vlasov stressed.
The official put the blame for the situation on the leaders of the Energy Ministry and the Unified Energy Systems of Russia JS, saying they issue direct orders to apply the toughest measures to military consumers at intercom conferences every day.
