Duma speaker to visit Russian military units in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE. Jan 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Speaker of the State Duma lower house of Russian parliament Gennady Seleznyov will arrive in Dushanbe on a visit on Friday, a spokesman for the headquarters of the Russian troops group in Tajikistan told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Seleznyov is expected to visit Russian military units stationed in Tajikistan, including the Moscow border guard detachment, a military hospital, and the 201st motorized rifle division.

Colonel Yuri Perminov, commander of the division, will brief Seleznyov on the political situation in the region and report to the speaker on the state of affairs in his unit.

Besides, Seleznyov is expected to meet with leaders of the Tajik administration, among them several government members, and with Tajik lawmakers.
