TBILISI. Jan 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The headquarters of the Russian force in the Trans Caucasus region stationed in Tbilisi may be disbanded in the next six months, Interfax was told at a Georgian government agency.
The source did not rule out the possibility that the closure may be followed by the reduction of the period of withdrawal from military bases in Batumi and Akhalkalaki.
The headquarters neither confirmed nor denied the information.
However, the Russian military told Interfax that the closure of the headquarters in Tbilisi is a more complicated process and the dismantling of communication equipment alone will take at least a year.
