MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Chief-of-Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin left for Turkey on Monday, a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax- Military News Agency.
Kvashnin is expected to negotiate with his Turkish counterpart General Huseyin Kivrikogly, the spokesman said. The chief-of-staff is also planning to meet with Defense Minister Sabahattin Cakmakogly and Foreign Minister Ismail Cem in the course of his two-day visit.
The parties are planning to consider bilateral relations in the sphere of military-technical cooperation and tightening of measures against international terrorism in connection with the anti-terrorist operation being conducted by the United States and its allies in Afghanistan. Post-conflict settlement in Afghanistan is on the agenda of the meetings, too.
