Baltic Fleet prosecutor's office cancels some 600 illegal orders in 2001

KALININGRAD. Jan 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The Baltic Fleet military prosecutor's office cancelled some 600 illegal orders issued by officials of various levels last year, the fleet's military prosecutor Major General German Shtadler told Interfax- Military News Agency on Monday.

The prosecutor's office found out that several commanders of units and vessels who were well aware of the current legislation's requirements issued illegal orders anyway, Shtadler said. According to him, the prosecutor's offices of the fleet's garrisons restored the rights of 42,000 servicemen and civilians derogated from by fleet officials last year. They also reviewed 210 criminal cases from the archive and fully rehabilitated 49 people.
