Russian Navy commander to inspect Pacific Fleet

MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Navy Commander Vladimir Kuroyedov and a group of officers of the Navy Staff left for Vladivostok on Tuesday to carry out an inspection of the Pacific Fleet, a spokesman for Kuroyedov's administration told Interfax-Military News Agency.

After arrival in Vladivostok Kuroyedov will hear the reports of Pacific Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Viktor Fyodorov, commanders of the fleet's formations and units on the progress of combat training and organization of the training process in the new academic year. He will also check combat readiness of the Troops and Forces of the Russian Northeast stationed at the Kamchatka Peninsula and of the units and vessels based in Vladivostok, the Pacific Fleet's main base.

Earlier the Navy commander visited the Northern and Baltic Fleets to check activities of the headquarters related to combat training organization.
